I've been lucky enough to train with Jordan Matter, the prominent dance photographer in the U.S. and author of the dance photography book Dancers After Dark. He taught me how to get the most remarkable images of dancers, how to capture their grace and strength through the lens of every day life and in every day situations. The exciting thing about working in this style is that you never really know what you are going to get. Jordan lets serendipity take its course and opportunistically grabs those opportunities to capture remarkable moments. It's a very exciting way to work for both dancer and photographer!
A Suki Foster Photography dance photo shoot is a collaboration of creativity where the dancer is the star and we work with the elements as they come along to make the most of the incredible scenery in every day life. I am excited to be able to bring this dance photography style to Sydney.
